$1 IS A FORTUNE

FROM TOYS TO SCHOOLS

No matter the language, IKEA stores around the world are all saying the same thing – thank you. Because of customers like yourself, we helped raise over $10.3 million CAD worldwide through the sales of soft toys for our partners UNICEF and Save the Children.

How a drop in the bucket makes a cup runneth over

Poverty, disease, lack of education. If you think one little dollar can’t make a difference against such enormous issues, think again.
The annual Soft Toys Campaign, ‘$1 is a Fortune,’ runs from early November to December 24 at our 11 IKEA Canada locations and donates one dollar for each soft toy sold to UNICEF and Save the Children educational projects. Together with IKEA customers, we contribute to improved education for children.

Since the start in 2003, nearly $35 million CAD has helped improve the lives of millions of children in more than 30 countries in Asia, Africa and Central and Eastern Europe.

The funds raised during the 2009 Soft Toy Campaign will benefit UNICEF’s “Schools for Africa” program that assists children in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Madagascar, South Africa, Mali and Niger. Save the Children will use the 2009 donation to assist children’s education in Russia, Albania, Vietnam and Bangladesh.

That’s why we say $1 is a fortune. And, we say thanks for your help!
